When you use FocusBubble, we collect:

• Apple ID Authentication: We use Sign in with Apple for secure authentication. We receive your unique user ID and, optionally, your name and email address.
• Profile Information: Username and profile picture you choose during setup.
• Device Information: Device tokens for push notifications.

Usage Information

• Focus Sessions: Session names, session codes, participant lists, and session timestamps.
• App Blocking Preferences: Categories and apps you select to block (stored locally on your device only).
• Session Activity: Real-time status of participants in collaborative sessions.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your FocusBubble account
• Facilitate collaborative focus sessions with other users
• Sync your sessions across your devices
• Send you notifications about session updates and activities
• Improve and optimize the app experience
• Provide customer support and respond to your requests

3. Data Storage and Security

We take data security seriously:

• Cloud Storage: User profiles and session data are stored securely using Firebase/Firestore.
• Local Storage: App blocking preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS Screen Time APIs.
• Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard protocols.
• Access Controls: We implement strict access controls to ensure only authorized systems can access your data.

4. Screen Time Permissions

FocusBubble requires iOS Screen Time permissions to function properly. These permissions allow us to:

• Block selected apps and categories during focus sessions
• Display shield screens when you attempt to access blocked apps

Important: We do NOT collect, transmit, or store information about which specific apps you have installed on your device. App blocking is enforced entirely on your device and your app selections remain private.

5. Push Notifications

We request permission to send you push notifications to:

• Notify you when friends join your focus sessions
• Send session updates and reminders
• Alert you about session-related activities

You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

6. Information Sharing

We share limited information in the following circumstances:

• With Other Users: When you join a collaborative session, your username and profile picture are visible to other participants in that session.
• Service Providers: We use Firebase (Google) to host our backend infrastructure. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

We do NOT:

• Sell your personal information to third parties
• Share your data with advertisers
• Track your browsing or app usage outside of FocusBubble

7. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct your profile information at any time through the app
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt-Out: Disable push notifications or delete your account at any time

8. Children's Privacy

FocusBubble is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

9. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account:

• Your profile information will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• Your participation in past sessions will be anonymized
• Local app blocking preferences will be cleared from your device

10. Third-Party Services

FocusBubble uses the following third-party services:

• Apple Sign In: For authentication (Apple Privacy Policy)
• Firebase/Firestore: For data storage and real-time synchronization (Firebase Privacy Policy)
• Firebase Cloud Messaging: For push notifications

These services have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them.

11. International Users

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• Sending you a notification for significant changes

Your continued use of FocusBubble after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
